About BASi Clinical Pharmacology Research Unit

BASi is a contract research organization (CRO), meaning we conduct tests on drugs for pharmaceutical companies. The clinical trials we do are a vital component of drug development because they determine how a drug affects the human body and how the body affects a drug. Some of the studies are designed to test the absorption rate of drugs into the blood stream, while others test the safety of new drug products.

Clinical research studies vary widely in intensity and risk. Many are carried out on healthy individuals and can even involve testing a new formulation of a marketed drug available in every drug store, such as ibuprofen. It is important to remember that every aspect of every research study is strictly regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Research participants are carefully told about all the details before agreeing to participate, ensuring greater protection for participants and improved healthcare for everyone.
