Do I Qualify to Participate in A Study?
Yes, if you meet the following standards:
- Be in good general health.
- Meet specific age and weight requirements.
- Have an acceptable medical history.
- Be free of medications, alcohol and drugs.
- Have state-issued identification and social security
card.
Our staff will conduct a private medical history interview and request blood and urine samples. You will also receive a physical examination and an EKG ( a painless tracing of the electrical activity of the heart). (All of this information will be kept confidential.) Once all of this is completed and the results of the screening process indicate that you are healthy , you will be placed in our database and notified of upcoming studies.
Restrictions
It is essential that participants in a clinical research study are free from all drugs and medications. This ensures your safety. You must be alcohol-free for at least 48 hours before beginning a study. As part of the screening process and at check-in for certain studies, you will be tested for the presence of illegal drugs.
Some confidential questions regarding your medical history and present health status are to follow. All information collected from the questionnaire will be kept confidential. Your answers to the following questions will be kept in our database of healthy subjects. These records are accessible to our research staff and will not be shared with anyone else without your permission.
You may stop the questionnaire at any time if you do not wish to continue.
